The client wanted a sleek and minimal window furnishing while enjoying both light filtering and full insulation.

From the start, the client was very clear about their goals. They didn’t want any heavy drapery or bulky mechanisms. They were after something that:

• Disappeared into the architecture
• Offered complete control of natural light
• Delivered insulation and privacy at night
• And most importantly, fit the minimal, neutral tone of their interior design

This Northcote home had been recently renovated in a contemporary style, with polished concrete floors, white walls, and a muted, earthy colour palette. With simplicity at the heart of their design approach, the window furnishings needed to blend seamlessly—not stand out.

The client also noted that the house received a lot of natural sunlight, which they loved but needed to manage. During the day, they wanted to soften the light without darkening the space, and in the evenings, they needed thermal insulation to retain warmth and privacy.

Their ideal solution was two blind types in one window—one to let light in, one to block it out—all without adding visual clutter.

A dual bracket system was used to fit two blinds within one window frame. Thermal blinds provided insulation and privacy at night. Sunscreen blinds allowed soft natural light in during the day while maintaining UV protection.
